I bought a really clean 85 hatch with 2.3 cyl. and automatic. I thought these cars used the duraspark ignition, evidently they dont, even though this is a carbed car? It has a tfi coil , and tfi plug on the distributor. I had an 86 coupe with the 2.3 carb. motor and 4spd, i changed it over to a 302 carbed motor and 5spd and didnt do anything with the ignition but plug a 5.0 efi distributor up to the factory 4cyl efi plug and it ran and drove fine, but wasnt very powerful. I assume this was due to the computer in the kick panel being for a 4cyl. My question is would this work out better for me this time if I used a speed density 5.0 computer in place of the 4cyl. ? I know a msd or other aftermarket would be optimal but what are you guys opinion on this? And of course any info. on this will be greatly appreciated! Thanks Chris-

That is something even I haven't tried. Not sure but maybe no one has and that my friend may be what the problem is on your responses. We have tried some crazy things and some weird things have worked but that's just not one of them.
