A friend bought out the contents of a storage space to sell at a flea market space and there were Mustang parts there. There was a scratched up green hood off a 99-04 car with all the factory stickers on the underside, but there was a silver "S281" sticker on each side of the cowl riser. It felt like fiberglass when you thumped it, and it was pretty light, but I didn't realize that they would make a glass hood that looked 100% stock.
The other mystery parts were very similar looking to the Saleen Speedster tonneau cover, except it was in two halves. Each of the halves had hardware for mounting on the underside and they looked like they might bolt together to form a single unit if you wanted to flip it up all at one time. They were fiberglass, as well, and unfinished on the underside (raw glass). Looking at Saleen's site, his sportster is a single piece....
Any ideas on what application these glass tonneau pieces go to? Any ideas on how much someone might sell these for? What would you charge for the hood?
I should have pics in the next few days if it'll help....

Not to change the subject, but did you get a drive shaft made for the truck yet?

Hell no.... the yoke showed up today from Mancini. There's no such thing as a 1350 yoke to go in the back of a 904. The largest you can get is a 7290 (which is the same size as the Dakota joint). So I ordered that, and I called up the shop & they are a day & a half behind right now....
Looks like no practice this weekend. Maybe Eatonton will be open Thanksgiving night? hahaha....

Hoods on the New Edge cars (99-04) are fiberglass, all be it heavy, from Ford. Saleen makes a S281 package for the cars...
The hood and cover probably came from the same car, or someone bought the cover to install on the car...

Any idea on value of a stock NEw Edge hood?
The covers were unpainted & unfinished, so I'd assume they were purchased & just never installed. ANy idea on value?

$50 to $100, maybe, on the hood.
Cover, list for $599.00 at this site...

The cover is a little different than that one piece though..... this is two pieces (passenger's side & driver's side) that look like they have the option to flip up individually from each other. But the end result looks very similar to that Saleen version...
Wish there was some manufacturer's sticker somewhere.

This is it.... from Cervini's. But Cervini's describes them as "urethane" when these were definitely fiberglass...

Interesting... based on the prices of covers from various site, I think the part would probably sell for a few hundred bucks... Just finding someone who wants one will be the challenge. :D

My Momma would kick my ass sideways if I got up from dinner & drove my hooptie out to Eatonton. LOL....
I'll just slip the stickies on & try a few test hits out on the street somewheres. If it'll remotely hook on raw asphalt, it'll get it & roll out at Jackson.
