Well,i'm tired and going off memory with some of the names here, but here are the results.First,we had a good day, with the weather really cooperating with us,track was great, but started getting slick towards the end of the day.
This showdown actually started Friday night,Casey Millholland on Brent Bird's Busa went a 6.02 a few times, and he really wanted the record.Darren Burnett owns the record at 5.992,Casey never got it done friday night, and had a hard Saturday night and pulled a muscle,so he was holding off for today. The guy's at the track as always were nice enough to let me ride theirs Friday night,as my Busa still has second gear screwed and my 1k has a spun rod bearing,so,again, thanks guy's for the rides.
When we started practice, there were grude matches going on and everyone was putting on a awesome show for the spectator's,and we were having fun.Darrenn Burnett came out strong on his Busa, and ran a 6.002 and then ran a 5.989.A new record was set,but there were some talk in and around the track.Chad Millholland roll's out a new zx10r,which belongs to a salesman at Alcoa good times, and quickly lays down some impressive numbers to say the least.About the same time,Dash climbs aboard his zx10r and starts "warming up".He also run some very impressive times,Chad and Darren were running right around 6.0's.They never matched off in "practice",but the hype was growing for the 1000 class today.
Towards the end of practice,Chad Millholland run's a 5.986 and resets the record as he backed it up within' 3%.Darren was already back on teh Busa at this time, and rolled up and ran a 5.952 at 122 mph. These are stock wheelbase, naturally asperated bikes on dot tires.Very impressive to say the least!
Chad Millholland win's the 750cc and below class with a 6.39,i am not sure if that is the fastest he ran on the zx6rr all day or not,but plenty enough to win the class.$300 dollars for the win.
The 1000 class was getting "intresting" as 3 zx10r's and 1 gsxr 1k was left in this class.Chad Millholland had to race Zack Millholland, and Darren Burnett had to race Doug Brewer.Doug wheelied and just was really fighting it as Darren smoothly ran down the track for the win.Chad had some problems shifting i believe, and brother Zack Millholland (on a stock pipe'd zx10R) realizes Chad isn't there, and get's out of the throtlle so Chad can move on.Everyone knew this was coming, and i'm sure Zack realized Chad was the man in there camp,so he bows down and Chad win's with a 7.17.Now,Chad and Darren is in the lights, and looked to be a good race showdown.Darren spins and Chad had a smooth lauch and takes the win. This was the first sign of weakness from the Performance Psycle team.He had been smooth all day,as he has been for 2 years, that is why we race the race.$300 more for Chad Millholland.
Now,the 1100 and above class starts, and believe it or not,i had 87 pump gas due to no reason to waste good gas on a broke bike,i ran a 6.10 at 119.07.My highlight of the day,i did manage a few 6.09,6,12,6.13 and so on.
Wasn't many bikes here, and i(Jamie Millholland) had Charles Kabui in the first round,i run a 6.12 and take the win. After this, here we are in the semi finals, and for the 4th straight race,i had Darren in the semi's.Casey Millholland(Busa owned by Brent) had Chad Millholland (on the zx10r) in the semi's.We are waiting for the bikes to get back up there(round robin racing),and the announcer is really talking up Darren,me,being the trash talker, told teh announcer, well those records are all he is taking home, and so on,But in all actuality,i have the upmost respect for Darren and he even has rode my 1k in Prostar up till the last event when he got his 10,so it was just trash talking to spice up the crowd etc.Well,i had lane choice and by now,the right lane was going away,so i chose left. The treee fell(pro tree) and i had a decent run,and won the race.Darren obvisiouly had problems.Casey Millholland blows off the tire, and Chad rolls through with a 6.07.Jamie Millholland (me) know with this second gear problems, the tree was my best chance, and well i red lighted. The worst way to lose a race.$300 to Chad Millholland
Chad walked away with $900 for the day, definetly not a bad payout.Darren has done this many times in the past,it must be nice.
The heavy hitters class was full of Busa's once again, and Tim Clark on his zx12 r had his hands full. This class is the same rules as above, but rider must weigh 225 pounds. In the end,it was Tim Clark on his zx12r taking the win over Brent Bird.Awesome races all day in that class.
Wheelie contest was won by Casey Millholland on a lowered gsxr 1000 that belonged to Doug Brewer. This was a tough call,as there was some awesome wheelie's in this compitition.
I'm not sure who won the bracket class,so maybe someone will chime in,or tomorrow,i will update this. Thanks for everyone that made the trip, and everyone had a good track time day i think.Plenty of passes for sure.
Well,i found 2 time slips in my pants pocket, here is my 6.10 pass.
