well ding dong. Yes I HAD a 4.10 in my car I also HAD a 33 inch tall tire, that grows 20%.
I now have a 3.70 in my car so let me help you with the math since you are a know it all that knows NOTHING.
My motor is aluminum rod lightwieght valve train, and I shift it at 7800.
The motor will easily run above 9000 rpm not that I will ever spin that hard.

But here is a easy calculator for you to go play with.

FYI I go through the 1/8 mile right now at 146 mph. At 6400 rpm.
See if you can figure it out.

RPM/TIRE/Gear Ratio/convertor slip will always BE EQUAL no matter what engine is in front of them.

Gear =a multiplier.. So lets make it simple,

Say your going straight down a 5 mile long mountain, on a STEEP decline, you loose your brakes, your truck is in 5th gear, the motor runs out of power at 5000 rpm and thats 120 mph. If you leave your truck in gear and go down that mountain in 5th gear and it spins the motor to 9000 rpm, are you still only going 120 or are you going faster

The wind drag has no effect, if wind is present it will lower the RPM thus not allowing the vehicle to reach a higher speed. RPM=MPH

You are correct track prep plays a big role, this was not a conversation about if my car would hook up 1320 feet down the track.

and also jim i dont think glidden and lynch are running power glides so i am sure they are running lower gears then you

POWER GLIDE, 4 speed, 3 speed, 12 speed.. 1.1 gear ratio in high gear.

But your wrong Lynch does run a glide. And ATI builds them for him.

Glidden runs a clutch, but has less slippage so would run slightly less gear, but probably more since his car opperates in a RPM range higher than mine.
