As you know, my car went a 7.98, but that was in mineshaft conditions. On the dyno, my car's powerband hit a brick wall @ 5500 rpms. It has a lightning shortblock, flat-tappet cam, ported iron heads, and performer dual-plane intake. I'm thinking that if I change the intake to a victor jr. or something like that, maybe I can turn it 6000 rpms and maybe go 7.90's in the summer. Any thoughts?

It's worth a shot... you might also look into stepping up from that 650 carb to a 750 double pumper. I think Holley makes one for your motor.

Yeah, and look for downhill tracks.

I tried the same swap last spring thinking I could pull a few/4 hundred more rpm out of my junk. Really didn't work out as planned.

The shorter straight runner of the Vic vs. the FAST(in my app.)lost a bunch under the curve.... 32rwhp/28rwtq), and really didn't make up for that low end loss on top either. I need all I can get down low.....

I believe cam design was wrong for the Vic., not only in powerband but in VE's.

I know I'm comparing apples to oranges between our motors(Ford/GM), but I think if you spec'd out a good stick that will give that intake what it wants, and as mentioned dump more fuel on it, I bet that puppy pics up good power and gets you the upper shift points you're after.

Give it a shot.... if it doesn't work.... ebay it and be out pennies?

You're probably correct, but I've actually got a 670 avenger vacuum secondary. It has came with different springs to adjust for 13 sec LSTurds, or 12 sec turds. I've got the kick-some-LS-azz springs in it right now:D

Hummm...maybe I'll try it...

On another note, have you laid the smack down on 0slomaro1 yet? :D

Oh my bad... I thought it was a 650. That 670 Avenger is probably more what you need right now, being winter & all.

I think you should swap to a Variable Venturi Carb off of a Late 80's 351 police car:D:D

Didn't know I needed to. Was I 'spose to?
Either way.... they're both good guys and both have qwik rides.... I'll leave the smack talk/skreet hustlin' and earned creds to them.....gettin' too old/wore out for all that big excitement.....

I actually don't know. I'm sure he's a good guy...some of my shit-talk is surely going to get him to the track to run me one day. I mean, he's got an LSTurd...how fast can it be?:D Yours, of course, has some Ford parts on it SOMEWHERE to go 6.40's! I'll need about 10 car lengths and the move to have a chance with you...

10.5 if everything in your sign is true then your way off on your numbers I've seen that same setup run into some 10's with enough juice 1/4 mile not 1/8..so your bullshitin on your times.

0camaro1 runs the bracket races out at e-town 7.80's all day long and hell has one the last race he did out there about 2 weeks ago. When he sprays his little bitch it run's 7.teen on its best day.

if i was betin I would say your in the 6's

I hope that you don't take any money to Vegas...

I know that the parts that I have should run a little better, but the combination is kinda shitty...very little compression with too much cam and junky ported iron heads. Also, look at the weight...it's a full weight GT with only the passenger seat out (sometimes) and space savers for the track. Check out this calculator and you'll see why it runs what it does

http://www.wallaceracing.com/hpcalculatoreigth.php

As far as 0camaro1 goes, he's a little faster than me, but it would still be a good race. I haven't been 7.teens yet, but (no disrespect) I can out-drive him. I can step up the nitrous a little too, but only on a good track...my junk has trouble hooking sometimes--no cage, no subframes, no anti-roll, stock K member, 58/42 weight ratio front to rear. Are there any tracks open this weekend? I'm ready to get it on:D

Funny you should mention that.
You're right.
I fibbed about rwhp and ET.
My bad.
My car really is slow and it's hard to accept.
Hoping winter mods and the group theropy sessions/meds will help.
Prolly not though.

Thanx for bringing me back to reality. I get carried away easily.

Btw..... you should consider joining me at the theropy sessions.... seems you've got a bit of denial workin' too with that 7.98 cawcaw :secret: :poke: :rollingla

I dont know if there is or not....I know the street is open 24/7....if your wanting to go to the track it proably going to be next year with the holidays all here now....

Sounds like yall would be a good race but I think your still hiding something. Yalls cars sound pretty close to the same he still drives his on a regular bases still got a/c radio power steering full interior leaves his passenger seat in the car....

I'm not down with doing it on the street these days...but, sometime in Jan sounds good to me. Oh, and I'll leave my passenger seat in if it scares him:D

I will have to add that most cars with an auto and a fairly loose converter will have more than the 10% drive train loss that they figure into the math.

I'm a not even close to being in your league...but I'm game. I'll be the warm up pitcher...after you hit a homerun on me, you'll find out if you can hit a Coupe Performance fast ball...and come out with your nutz still in place...or will they be for sale?:D

Actually...I can't speak for Scott or Stoney, but weather permitting, I'll be there.

Where's 0camaro1 at??? I want to drop an LSTurd outta my azz first:D
