Japan isn't that spectacular. It's at best OK as far as living there. It is crowded and everything is so close together. However there are some pluses.

    - Beer vending machines on the streets
    - The bullet train
    - Cool clubs in the bigger cities. Although cover charge to get in is normally 50 Yen ($50)
    - Pretty scenery when you go past the quaint farming villages
    - and some others...

As far as culture though, it's something everyone needs to experience. I didn't see very many cars, just a few. Everyone goes around by train or bicycle.

50 Yen is equivelent to $50? I thought yen were worth like a fraction of a dollar?

I really want to just visit there sometime to experience what it is like. And bring back car parts of course

LMAO! I guess I'm showing my age. This was 10 years ago. It always ranged from .90 to 1.10 yen to the dollar.

All I know is that it had cost me 50 Yen to get into "Julianna's Tokyo" (club).

Oh, i absolutely LOVED and ADORED what I did for a living, i actually regret not getting to do it anymore. And I met my husband in Japan. I've lived there and travelled all over Japan so I know what it's like. It's a nice place to visit but I wouldn't live there. It is VERY expensive to live there too.

People just have misconceived notions of Japan, like how Europeans imagine what America must be like. It's not like the Jackie Chan/Jet Li movies.

In Japan, where I lived was down wind from a "cremation" factory (it was miles and miles away). Every Tuesday - Thursday, i smelled cremated bodies and the stench filled the air. It was heavy and it weighed on your lungs. Remember, it's so crowded in Japan that they dont have a lot of places to bury bodies.

    Peace

I dont expect it to be like a jackie chan move. I just like the aspects of the culture that I have read about and the emphasis they have on racing (Drifting, Road Racing, Crazy ass imports). I mean, what racing do we have in america? Nascar and the NHRA. Not really of the same caliber, although the NHRA does get pretty interesting.

Just stay up-wind of the cremation factories, you'll be fine!

Personally, i'd like to travel back to Europe and get into Rally.

Rally and F1 are also really cool events.

I got a chance to go to a Jordan F1 team dinner a while back when the F1 race was at indy.

Yup lived there too. It was HOT AS FUCK! I couldn't do that again. But you guys may like it for the girlie action. Australian dudes are all assholes and treat their women badly. So if you guys are looking for a Australian cutie, that may be your ticket. They LOVE American men because they treat them like blonde goddesses.
